The Bolsa Família Program (BFP) provides monthly cash benefits to around 13 million Brazilian families in all the country´s 5,570 municipalities. This article describes the payments flow, starting with the identification, eligibility and selection of beneficiary families through to the composition of the Bolsa Familia “payroll” and the delivery of the Social Card.
