International Seminar Social Policy for Development

Brasilia, Brazil, March 31 and April 4, 2014.

Representatives of foreign governments interested in learning about social development policies in Brazil attended the 9th Edition of the International Seminar “Social Policies for Development”, which was sponsored by the Brazilian Ministry of Social Development and Fight against Hunger (MDS).

During the five-day meeting, the main actions of the MDS were introduced to participants, such as conditional cash transfer, food and nutrition security, social assistance, evaluation and information management. There was also a field visit to present the actions of the Food Purchase Program.

Since January 2012, the MDS promotes this event, with a total of 50 delegations from 41 countries to its eighth edition.
