Brasilia, May 16 – After the dismissal of the president of Brazil Dilma Rousseff last Thursday (05/12/2016) by an impeachment process, the interim president Michel Temer reduced the number of Brazilian ministries from 32 to 23. The new government aims to reduce the executive branch expenditures.
Among the changes is the merger of the Ministry of Social Development and Fight against Hunger (MDS), which is a WWP Initiative partner, and the Ministry of Agrarian Development. The name of the new ministry has become Social and Agrarian Development under the management of the deputy and minister Osmar Terra.
